ABOUT INGLESIDE GALLERY

About

Nestled within the inviting space of Ballast Coffee in San Francisco's West Portal district, Ingleside Gallery presents rotating exhibitions that celebrate the Bay Area's emerging artistic voices. Here, contemporary art becomes part of everyday life, creating an accessible venue where art is woven into our daily experience. Accessible during café hours and online.

Our Story

Ingleside Gallery emerged from a vision to create space for bold, experimental art in San Francisco's neighborhoods. Founded by artist-curator Shrey Purohit in 2021, the gallery first took root on Ocean Avenue, where it quickly became a creative hub for exhibitions and creative gatherings.

That founding spirit of community and artistic dialogue continues today through our partnership with Ballast Coffee, where we present thoughtfully curated shows that spotlight the city's underground art scene. With two month long shows, artists are invited to use the platform to highlight their emerging art practice to art collectors, curators and art lovers across the neighborhood and Bay Area.

To show your work at Ingleside Gallery at Ballast Coffee, you must be an artist-for-life, and you must love Ballast Coffee and Ingleside Gallery. If you are interested in having a show at Ingleside Gallery at Ballast Coffee, please contact us.

Our Approach

We believe art should be both ambitious and accessible. Through extended exhibition runs and artist-friendly commission structures, we create sustainable opportunities for emerging talents to share their work with new audiences. Our exhibitions range from painting to mixed media, each selection reflecting the dynamic energy of Bay Area artists working today.

In the heart of West Portal, Ballast Coffee provides more than exceptional Filipino coffee—it offers a welcoming environment where art and community naturally converge. The gallery space within Ballast Coffee transforms daily cafe culture into opportunities for artistic encounter, fostering meaningful connections between artists, artwork, and audiences.
